Science
The future of skincare is Biotech.

Cause > Effect
At Epicutis® we develop skincare ingredients to care for our skin's overall health, not its appearance. We have grown tired of the tricks of the trade, with promises of appearance becoming more important than how a product impacts our health.
To us it's simple. Your skin is a reflection of your health -- and we need to care for it as such. The tendency to focus on appearance is natural, but it is important to remember, Cause > Effect.
Our Ingredients
Over the last 20 years, Signum Biosciences Inc., has developed a library of novel ingredients focusing on two very specific targets.

TSC
Tetramethyl Hexadecenyl Succinoyl Cysteine
TSC (tetramethylhexadecenyl succinoyl cysteine) is a patented, next-generation molecule that acts as a super-lipid—restoring the skin’s natural barrier while targeting key inflammatory pathways, supporting healthier, more resilient skin—without irritation.

HYVIA®
Salvia Hispanica Seed Oil Extract
HYVIA® (salvia hispanica) a novel moisturizing agent derived from organic non-GMO chia seed oil, delivers stable potent omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids—to help boost hydration, calm inflammation, and fight other visible signs of poor skin health.

DSD
Disodium S-Phytyl Diglycoloylcysteine
DSD (disodium S-phytyl diglycoloylcysteine) is a lipid-like mimetic similar to TSC equipped with powerful, anti-oxidant properties that protect against environmental stressors by blocking UV and pollution induced skin damage.

ABSO
Arctigenin Enriched Burdock Seed Oil
ABSO (arctigenin enriched burdock seed oil) is a novel skin-brightening extract derived from burdock seed oil. It’s enriched with arctigenin (ATG) - the key skin brightening component. Containing about 5 times more ATG than regular burdock seed oil (BSO).

AGSE
Activated Grape Seed Extract
AGSE (activated grape seed extract) is a novel grape seed extract clinically proven to combat fine lines and wrinkles that possesses strong anti-oxidant and anti-Inflammatory properties to help calm skin and fight the signs of aging.
Selecting Targets
Over the last 20 years, Signum Biosciences Inc., has developed a library of novel ingredients focusing on two very specific targets.

IPC's - Signal Transduction Modifiers
Our skin's cells are constantly sending signals to one another in the form of proteins, enzymes, and other molecules. By modulating how these signals are sent we can adjust our skin's response to certain stimuli.

PP2A - Fighting Inflammation
Within each of our skin's cells is a protein trimer called PP2A. By activating PP2A we are able to decrease the levels of inflammation in skin to improve natural repair.
Research + Development
Applying the tools of pharmaceutical development to cosmetic development
At Epicutis® we have the ability to conduct science on the level of major pharmaceutical companies because our origins are in biotechnology. For most cosmetic products, R&D is an afterthought or a tool to drive marketing rather than a way to create something with true value.
